Date of Birth: 12/12/74
Hometown: Hazleton, IA
Profession: Sales, Performance Bodies
Hobbies: Racing, watching the Minnesota Vikings, and working on his 1968 Chevelle
Personal: Darin is married to Jennifer and they have 2 children (Karter and Ella), 2 dogs (Giselle & Lizzie) and 2 cats (Tanner & Flav).
Race Background: Darin got his start in demolition derbies at the age of 14. He started racing hobby stocks in 1991, modifieds in 1993 and dirt late models in 2003 and back to modifieds in 2009.
Favorite Track: Independence Motor Speedway because it is my hometown track. I grew up racing there and have a great fan base. I really like the people that race there.
Feature Wins: 134 feature wins
Most memorable moment: Marrying my wife and having our two children.
Most memorable moment in racing: In September 2003, we had a great weekend. I won both the modified and late model features in the same night at Independence Motor Speedway, Indee Open Series. Then on Monday, we won the Boone Super Nationals late model feature, something I never dreamed of winning my first year in a dirt late model.
Most Embarrassing Moment: It would definitely be the Dubuque Spring Championship. I took the lead on lap 6 and lead until the 34th lap when there was a caution. I thought that they were on my back bumper so I tried to step it up a notch. That's when I drove in WAY to deep and nailed the wall and ended up 16th. I've been sick ever since!

Feature Wins: 2 in the Hobby Stock Division, 13 features in the 2-man cruiser division which includes 2 at the Jones County Fair
Most Memorable Moment: "It is a toss-up; either the night that Darin won the Boone Super Nationals in 2003 as a "rookie" in a dirt late model or in 2002 when Darin started 28th and finished 3rd in the modified at the IMCA Super Nationals."
